Motorcycle accidents: Young man dies after crash with truck

On Behalf of | Jun 5, 2018 | Motorcycle Accidents |

Over the years some motorcycles have earned a reputation for being fast. The reputation can often skew the perception of witnesses and/or authorities and can make it difficult for victims of motorcycle accidents when processing a claim. Personal injury attorneys often serve as skilled advocates for victims during the aftermath of a motorcycle crash. Sadly, a recent Florida crash has resulted in the death of one young biker’s life.

The 23-year-old man was riding his bike on a local roadway when a truck pulled into his path. The immediate impact of the vehicles ejected him from the bike, and it landed in a nearby ditch. The pickup truck was operated by a 62-year-old woman.

Investigators are still sorting through the details of the wreck, but they have released some details. The bike rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but there is speculation to his speed. Reports claim that he may have been speeding. While the pickup truck driver walked away from the accident uninjured, the motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries and died. Authorities have not announced if charges will be filed in relation to the accident.

Motorcycle accidents such as this one can be difficult to process. Many victims or, in some cases, families of deceased victims find an attorney to be a helpful advocate. Florida personal injury attorneys can examine the collected evidence in a crash and advise a family of legal options. Some families may choose to file a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court to seek legal recourse and/or financial compensation to assist with unexpected burial costs and other financial damages.
