Couple detained after abandoning car stashed with narcotics

In Florida, Brevard County residents who find themselves facing criminal charges related to impaired driving while in possession of a controlled substance may be interested in a case that is unfolding on the opposite side of the state. According to media sources, two people have been taken into custody after authorities allegedly discovered narcotics inside their abandoned vehicle in Walton County on May 15.

AAA study says marijuana impairment tests flawed

As marijuana is legalized in more and more states, Florida residents may wonder what methods law enforcement officers will use to determine if drivers are impaired by the drug. Currently, six states have marijuana tests for drivers, but, according to a study by AAA, those tests have no scientific basis and should be scrapped.

More DUI problems for Justin Blackmon

Justin Blackmon, who has been suspended from the Jacksonville Jaguars since 2013, will be sentenced in June after pleading guilty to misdemeanor DUI charges from an incident in December. Florida football fans may now that it is the third time he has been charged in an alcohol-related incident.
